Carlos Ruiz
Ruiz is a former Guatemalan footballer. He played for the country’s national team and several Major League Soccer (MLS) teams, including the Los Angeles Galaxy.

He has been a key component in the Los Angeles Galaxy 2022 MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield winning campaigns. He is a perfect compliment for Carlos Vela. His ability to fire long range shots from anywhere on the pitch has been impressive.

The Norwegian has been a key part of the Union’s most dominant defense this season, as they finished with the fewest goals allowed in MLS history. His 57 interceptions and 26 tackles led the Union’s defense. He has also been named a 2022 MLS All-Star.
In addition to Glesnes, the Union’s defenders are also anchored by Jack Elliott, who played every minute of the regular season. Olivier Mbaizo, Nathan Harriel and Kai Wagner also make up the team’s backline.
After finishing with the most wins and the second-most clean sheets this season, Andre Blake was nominated for MLS Goalkeeper of the Year. Blake, a Jamaican national, has already won the award twice.
